Most social media retainers in India are content treadmills. An agency posts on schedule, sends a monthly report full of reach and impression numbers, and nobody in the business can point to a single customer who came from it.
The problem is not the posting. It is that the content was never designed to reach buyers, and there was never a mechanism to convert attention into enquiry.
Start with the buyer, not the platform
Before proposing a content calendar, we work out three things:
Who actually buys from you. Not a demographic profile — a specific description of the person who signs off, what triggers them to start looking, and what makes them hesitate. A social strategy aimed at “businesses in India aged 25–45” produces content aimed at nobody.
What they are already thinking about. People do not follow brands to see brand content. They follow accounts that address problems they already have. Your content needs to sit inside an existing conversation.
Where they already spend attention. This determines platform, and it is a research question with a real answer, not a matter of preference.
Choosing platforms honestly
| Platform | Works for | Primary format |
|---|---|---|
| Consumer retail, food, fashion, fitness, real estate, local services | Reels, carousels | |
| B2B services, SaaS, consulting, recruitment, high-ticket sales | Text posts, documents, native video | |
| YouTube | Anything with a long consideration cycle or a teaching angle | Long-form, Shorts |
| Local businesses, community-driven brands, 35+ audiences | Groups, video, events |
We generally recommend one primary platform and one secondary. Spreading across four means none of them gets content good enough to break through.
The content engine
Sustainable social output is a system, not a burst of inspiration. Ours has four content types, and the ratio matters more than the individual posts.
Point-of-view content (40%). Where you take a position. This is what makes an account worth following rather than worth muting. It requires actually having opinions about your industry, which is why generic agency content never performs — it is written to offend nobody.
Teaching content (30%). Genuinely useful material that solves a small problem completely. Not “5 tips” listicles, but specific, applicable answers. This is what gets saved and shared, and saves are the strongest algorithmic signal on Instagram.
Proof content (20%). Client results, process transparency, before-and-after, and case studies. This is what converts someone who has been following for two months. Most accounts under-invest here because it feels like bragging.
Personality content (10%). Behind the scenes, team, opinions on adjacent topics. Builds the parasocial familiarity that makes people choose you over an equally competent competitor.
Production workflow
- Monthly strategy session. Themes, campaign priorities, and what we learned last month.
- Batch scripting. A month of content scripted at once, so the narrative builds instead of jumping around.
- Batch production. One or two shoot days per month, plus design and editing.
- Scheduled publishing with platform-native formatting — no cross-posted content with a TikTok watermark on Instagram.
- Active community management. Replying to comments and DMs within hours. This is where enquiries actually happen and it is the step most agencies skip.
Organic and paid are one system
Treating organic and paid social as separate disciplines is the most expensive mistake in this channel.
Organic is your testing ground. It tells you — cheaply, with real audience feedback — which hooks land, which offers resonate, and which formats hold attention. Paid is distribution. It takes what already proved itself organically and puts it in front of a much larger, precisely targeted audience.
Running paid on untested creative is how agencies burn budget. Running organic with no paid amplification is how good content reaches four hundred people. Our Meta Ads work is built directly on top of organic performance data for exactly this reason.
Converting attention into enquiries
Content that gets attention and generates no business is a hobby. The conversion path needs deliberate construction:
- A clear next step in profile bio and pinned content — one action, not five links
- DM workflows with fast response and a qualification question, because most social enquiries arrive as messages, not form fills
- WhatsApp as the primary conversion point for Indian audiences, where it consistently outperforms web forms
- Retargeting audiences built from video viewers and profile engagers, so warm attention is not wasted
- Tracked links so social-attributed conversions appear in analytics rather than showing as direct traffic
What we report
Monthly, and structured around whether this channel is working:
- Qualified reach — how much of your reach was the target audience, not incidental viewers
- Engagement rate by content type, so we know what to make more of
- Saves and shares, weighted more heavily than likes because they predict distribution
- Profile-to-enquiry conversion rate
- Attributable enquiries and, where your CRM allows, pipeline value
- Follower growth, reported but never led with
We will also tell you when a format stops working. Social platforms change fast, and a report that shows only improvement is not being honest about it.
Where social fits
Social builds demand among people who are not yet searching for you. Search captures demand that already exists. You need both, and the sequence depends on your situation.
If you need pipeline this quarter, start with Google Ads to capture existing intent, then layer social to build the brand that makes future search cheaper. If your category has low search volume — a genuinely new product, or a service people do not know exists — social is your primary channel because there is no demand to capture yet.
Not sure which describes you? A digital marketing consultation will get you a specific recommendation rather than a generic pitch.
Getting started
We begin with a content and audience audit: what you have published, what performed, who is actually following you, and where the gap is between your content and your buyer.

Frequently asked questions
How many posts per month do I actually need?
Fewer than most agencies sell you. Three to four strong pieces a week on one primary platform outperforms daily posting across five platforms with recycled content. Volume without a point of view trains the algorithm to show your content to nobody. We would rather produce twelve genuinely good posts than forty filler ones.
Which platform should my business be on?
One or two, chosen by where your buyers actually are. B2B services and high-ticket sales belong on LinkedIn, usually with YouTube for depth. Consumer retail, food, fashion, fitness and real estate belong on Instagram. Being present on every platform means being mediocre on all of them. We pick based on your buyer, not on what is trending.
Do you handle content production or just scheduling?
Production. Strategy, scripting, design, editing, copywriting and scheduling. Scheduling alone is a ₹500-a-month software problem, not an agency service. We can work with your existing raw footage or run shoot days, depending on the format mix.
How long before organic social generates leads?
Organic social is a 6–9 month compounding play, not a lead tap you switch on. You will see engagement improve within 4–8 weeks, but attributable inbound enquiries typically start in month three and become predictable around month six. If you need leads next month, run paid — organic builds the asset that makes paid cheaper later.
Can you guarantee follower growth?
We can guarantee follower growth cheaply and it would be worthless — bought or incentivised followers actively damage your reach because they never engage. What we commit to is qualified reach, engagement rate from your target audience, and attributable enquiries. Follower count is a byproduct, not a target.
Do you need me on camera?
It helps significantly, especially for service businesses where trust drives the sale — founder-led content consistently outperforms brand-account content. But it is not mandatory. We build formats around what you will realistically sustain: talking-head video, voiceover with b-roll, carousels, written posts, or client-story formats where your customers do the talking.
